Moving Companies, AI Photo Inventory Instant Quote Tool

Customer photographs each room, AI builds a full inventory and cubic-footage estimate, tool calculates crew size, truck size, and a not-to-exceed quote in under 2 minutes, then books the move date with a deposit. Skips the in-home survey most movers still require just to quote.

    Build it yourself, free

This blueprint is free. Copy the master prompt below, build it with your own time, and the only outlay is a few low-cost tool subscriptions. Use it inside your own business, or sell it to clients. The numbers further down are what you can charge, not what you pay.

    Who you sell it to

Local and regional residential moving companies currently quoting either by phone interview (unreliable, both sides guess) or by sending someone out for a paid or unpaid in-home survey (slow, expensive, and a dealbreaker for the growing share of customers who just want a number before they'll even talk to a person). Best fit: movers doing 15+ local jobs a month who are losing quote-stage leads to whichever competitor answers the phone fastest, and who are tired of trucks showing up under- or over-crewed because the phone-quote inventory was wrong.

If you sell it, here is the money picture:

The first tile is the value of your client's own jobs, which is the reason they will pay you. The other two tiles are what you charge them.

What your client's own work is worth
The mover charges $2,200-9,500 per job
    Their revenue, not your fee
    Setup fee you charge
    $1,800
    One-off, paid to you
    Monthly retainer you charge
    $447/mo
    Recurring, paid to you

    How it works

A customer visiting the moving company's site walks through their home with their phone, snapping one photo per room (or uploading existing photos, a listing from their old Airbnb search, old real-estate photos, whatever they have). A vision model reads each photo, identifies the furniture and box-worthy items in it, and builds a structured inventory list per room that the customer can edit before confirming (add a piano, remove a rug they're leaving behind, bump box count up or down). From the confirmed inventory, the tool calculates total cubic footage using standard per-item volume figures, translates that into recommended crew size and truck size, estimates on-site hours, and, combined with the origin-to-destination driving distance pulled from Google Maps, produces a not-to-exceed quote range across three tiers (Basic labor-only, Full-Service with packing, White-Glove with fragile/specialty handling).

The customer picks a moving date from the company's available slots and locks it in with a refundable deposit through Stripe. The moving company's crew shows up already knowing exactly what they're moving, in what quantity, and how long it should take, because the inventory was built before they ever left the office.

    What to expect

When you paste this in, the AI builder spends 10-15 minutes on the initial build. The room-by-room photo analysis is the trickiest part to get right, expect 3-5 follow-up messages tuning the item detection. The most common issue: the vision model under-counts boxes and small items since they're rarely fully visible in a wide room shot.

If that happens, send the builder this follow-up: "The item detection is under-counting boxes and small items in cluttered rooms. Add a note in the vision prompt instructing it to estimate a conservative box count based on visible clutter and closet/cabinet density even when boxes aren't explicitly packed yet, and make sure the confirmation screen's manual box-count adjuster is prominent since customers will need to correct this often." This tool is honest about its limits by design, the inventory is a starting point the customer confirms and edits, not a guarantee, and the quote is explicitly not-to-exceed rather than binding-no-matter-what, which keeps both the mover and the customer protected if move day reveals more than the photos showed.
