Paste a client's URL and their GA4 and Search Console exports, and get a branded website redesign brief, a visual sitemap, a page-by-page content migration plan and a ready-to-paste 301 redirect list before you quote.

    Build it yourself, free

This blueprint is free. Copy the master prompt below, build it with your own time, and the only outlay is a few low-cost tool subscriptions. Use it inside your own business, or sell it to clients. The numbers further down are what you can charge, not what you pay.

    Who you sell it to

Web design and development agencies and freelancers who quote 5+ redesigns a month and run some kind of discovery before pricing. The best fit is a 3-20 person agency doing small business and mid-market redesigns in the $5,000-$25,000 range, where a strategist currently spends 1-3 days on spreadsheets and screenshots before a proposal goes out. Find them on Clutch, Dribbble, the WordPress and Webflow partner directories, local Chamber of Commerce member lists, and in agency owner communities on LinkedIn and Facebook.

They're a good fit if their site mentions 'discovery', 'strategy' or 'SEO-safe migration', or if they've lost a client's rankings on a past launch (ask, most have a story). Two ways to make money: build it for your own agency and sell paid discovery, or build it for other agencies as their branded internal tool with a monthly retainer.

If you sell it, here is the money picture:

The first tile is the value of your client's own jobs, which is the reason they will pay you. The other two tiles are what you charge them.

What your client's own work is worth
Agencies charge $5,000-$25,000 for a small business redesign; paid discovery alone runs $1,000-$10,000
    Their revenue, not your fee
    Setup fee you charge
    $2,500-$4,500
    One-off, paid to you
    Monthly retainer you charge
    $197-$397
    Recurring, paid to you

    How it works

A strategist creates a project with the client's site URL, confirms they have permission to crawl it, and fills in a goals questionnaire (or sends the client a link to fill it in). They upload the client's GA4 Pages export and Search Console Pages export if they have them, plus up to 5 competitor URLs. The tool reads robots.txt first and skips anything the site owner has blocked, then uses Firecrawl to map and crawl the site and builds a full content inventory: every URL with its title, word count, page type, last-modified date and status.

It flags thin, duplicate, near-duplicate, outdated, orphaned and broken pages. It matches the analytics on page path and marks the pages that bring in traffic, rankings or conversions as protected, so they can never be retired without a redirect. PageSpeed Insights gives a mobile and desktop performance baseline, and a lighter crawl of competitors shows which page types they have that the client doesn't.

AI then writes the redesign brief (goals, audiences, key journeys, functional requirements, CMS and integrations), proposes a new sitemap shown as a drag-and-drop visual tree, maps every old URL to keep, merge, rewrite, redirect or retire, and exports the 301 list in the format the developer needs. The client opens a private branded link to read the brief, comment section by section and click Approve.

    What to expect

The first brief takes about 20-40 minutes including review, against the 1-3 days most agencies spend assembling discovery by hand, and the bigger win is consistency: every proposal goes out with the same depth. The AI draft is a strong first pass, not a finished deliverable. Expect a strategist to adjust 10-20% of page types and merge suggestions on each project, and to rewrite the executive summary in the agency's own voice.

The SEO protection is where the real value sits: around 60% of site migrations see measurable organic traffic loss (Ahrefs, 2025), and one study of 892 domain migrations found an average of 523 days to get back to previous traffic, with missing redirects the most common cause. A tool that refuses to let a traffic-bearing page disappear without a 301 is an easy story to sell. Caveats: without GA4 or Search Console exports the tool can't tell which pages matter, so it treats every indexed page as protected; very large ecommerce sites need the crawl cap raised (and more Firecrawl credits); last-modified dates are often missing on older sites, so the outdated count can be understated.

Shipping it as a real app through AppBuild.DIY means strategists get a push notification the moment a client opens or approves a brief, which is exactly when a follow-up call lands best.
