Auto Repair Shops, Digital Vehicle Inspection Report Generator
Turns a technician's inspection photos and voice notes into a photo-backed report the customer approves line by line from a text link, no phone call required.
This blueprint is free. Copy the master prompt below, build it with your own time, and the only outlay is a few low-cost tool subscriptions. Use it inside your own business, or sell it to clients. The numbers further down are what you can charge, not what you pay.

The Repair Order That Approves Itself: Why Shops Are Ditching the Phone-Call Estimate
Read the articleWho you sell it to
Independent auto repair shops and small multi-bay chains (typically 2-8 bays) still running phone-only approval. Best fit: shop owners who already believe in digital inspection but are stuck using a generic DVI SaaS tool that doesn't reflect their own pricing, or shops with zero DVI process who are losing approved work to distrust over the phone.
If you sell it, here is the money picture:
The first tile is the value of your client's own jobs, which is the reason they will pay you. The other two tiles are what you charge them.
How it works
A technician walks through a standard inspection checklist on a phone or tablet, snapping photos and adding a quick voice or text note at each point. Anything that needs attention gets turned automatically into a plain-English line item with a photo, a price range, and an urgency level. The customer gets a text link, no app or login required, and approves or declines each item individually while watching a running total update live.
The shop gets notified the second the customer submits, so approved work can start without a callback, and anything declined quietly resurfaces at the next visit with its original photo still attached.
What to expect
The build itself is straightforward for Lovable or Base44: a technician-facing checklist view, a customer-facing report page, and a notification/history layer connecting them. The part that takes real iteration is the voice-note-to-plain-English rewrite, expect to spend time tuning the prompt so it reliably turns a mechanic's shorthand ("pads at 3mm, rotors scored") into something a non-mechanic customer actually understands without sounding condescending. Budget for a second pass on the price-range logic too: it needs to flex per shop (labor rate, typical parts markup) rather than hardcoding national averages, or the numbers will be visibly wrong to any shop owner who checks them against their own POS data.
Common follow-up prompts once the base build works: "add a technician photo-quality check that flags blurry photos before submit," "add a manager approval step for any single line item over $X before it goes to the customer," and "add a simple shop-side dashboard showing approval rate and average time-to-approve across all inspections this month."
